Isn’t technology grand? Now with the Exerspy you see just how many calories you are burning.

The Exerspy is a calorie management system that really does help people lose weight because it basically tells them exactly what they need to know to lose weight.

It has 2 parts:

  1. The armband
  2. dotFIT online software program

How it Works:

Users enter their personal information into the dotFIT program and it determines how many calories they should be eating each day. Users will then record everything they eat and drink into the program (My Nutrition – Food Log) to help them stay on track with their diet programs.

The arm band and the dotFIT program work together. The armband has unique sensors on it that can measure different things in the body (such as body temperature, motion, how much heat the muscles are producing) that help determine how many calories are being burned and it’s over 90% accurate. The armband can also track the number of steps you take because it has a built in pedometer.

Other than lack of exercise, the biggest reason people gain weight is because they’re eating too much and they may not even realize how much they’re overeating until they actually take a step back and start to record everything. Once you know how many calories you should be consuming, losing weight becomes a lot easier. You already know how to burn calories and you should know that burning 3,500 calories is approximately one pound of body fat. If you consume 500 less calories per day, you can lose a pound of week without doing anything else.

The Exerspy device can be a fantastic tool to help you get on track with your diet. You’re conscious of what you’re putting into your mouth because of the dotFIT program (which can help you eat less) and wearing the armband allows you to see exactly how many calories your body is burning. If that isn’t great motivation, I don’t know what is.

What the Exerspy and dotFIT program won’t do:

They won’t lose the weight for you. They’re simply tools to help guide you. You still need to make the right food choices, avoid overeating and get moving and exercise in order to see the best results.
